Patient Care Report

Iredell County Emergency Medical Services System utilizes the PreMIS paper form for the patient care reports.

In the future it is anticipated that Iredell County EMS System will utilize the computerized or palm pilot version of the PreMIS documentation.

Currently the field staff uses the paper form.  All Patient Care Reports are reviewed by the shift supervisor for completeness and then sent to the Assistant Shift Coordinators for a review of the treatment and protocol application.  The ICEMS Training Officer reviews all cardiac arrests, patients who are flown out of the county, or questionable PCRs a third time.  The PreMIS documentation is then faxed into the PreMIS system and then it goes to billing for processing.
